  • What did you do this past week? This past week was spent working on phase III, and another project for AI. I was in charge of writing and refining the tests. For the most part, it was simple, but I had trouble setting up jest to work with typescript. However, writing the actual test cases wasn’t too bad. I like writing the selenium test cases the most. It was cool to see code open up your web browser and do things without you touching the computer at all.
  • What’s in your way? Currently, the only thing in my way is managing my time. I have to work two jobs on top of taking classes and apply for financial aid and the master's program. So, I have to be in my best shape in terms of organization until the semester is over. It's almost impossible to catch back up once you fall behind, so I can’t let that happen.
  • What will you do next week? Next week, I will finish another AI project and apply for the integrated master's program. I really hope that I get in, it's always been a dream of mine to attend master's school here. If I don’t, I will probably apply for next fall, and see if my job can help me pay for some of it.
  • If you read it, what did you think of the More getters and setters? I thought the article was informative like last week's. It's always interesting to hear different takes on principles that you’ve adhered to since the beginning of your computer science career.
  • What was your experience of SQL? (this question will vary, week to week) I really enjoy SQL. The language is based on querying tables and relations. So that makes the syntax very structured. I fully understood this entire week of class, so that's nice.
  • What made you happy this week? Seeing my dad after not seeing him for four months made me happy. He’s been away from home for a while, so it made my week to finally get to see him.
  • What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week? My tip of the week is to ask the TA’s any and every question you have. They are an excellent resource, and will likely have the answer for everything you may ponder.
